This very large, complex and exciting
project is being developed. When complete, it will
provide opportunities for students to experience
an English-speaking town, not by travelling overseas
but through their computers. Using the techniques
of ¡°virtual reality¡± and drawing on IUC¡¯s experienced
ESL teachers and other native English speakers,
students will be able to interact with native English
speakers in an authentic English speaking environment,
all on-line. It will also provide authentic contexts
in which to assess learners¡¯ practical English language
proficiency.
